Chanan Agrovet Limited (“Chanan”, “we”, “us”) runs the agrovet and animal feeds shop on Kahara Road, Ngong Town, and this website. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have, in line with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect
- Orders and enquiries on WhatsApp or by phone: your name, phone number, the products you ask about, your delivery location and payment confirmations.
- Bulk feed quote requests: your name, phone number, farm or business name, location, the products and quantities you need.
- Job applications: the details you enter in the application form, your CV, certificates and referee contacts.
- Website use: our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser and pages visited) for security. Embedded Google Maps and Google Fonts are loaded from Google.
We do not ask for or need your ID number, date of birth, religion, tribe or health information.
Why we use it
- To answer your questions, prepare quotes, process and deliver your orders, and issue receipts and tax invoices (to perform our agreement with you and meet KRA requirements).
- To assess job applications and contact shortlisted candidates (with your consent).
- To keep the website secure and working (our legitimate interest).
- To send you offers or farming tips on WhatsApp or SMS, only if you have agreed. You can stop these at any time by replying STOP or telling us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share only what is needed with: delivery riders and transport companies (name, phone and location for your delivery); Safaricom (M-Pesa payments); the Kenya Revenue Authority (tax invoices); our website host and email provider; WhatsApp/Meta when you message us; and authorities where the law requires it.
Our website is hosted by Namecheap on servers outside Kenya. We use reputable providers with appropriate security safeguards for this transfer.
How long we keep it
- Order, payment and invoice records: as long as the tax laws require (generally 5 years).
- Quote requests and enquiries that do not lead to an order: up to 12 months.
- Job applications and CVs: up to 12 months, then deleted, unless you are hired.
Your rights
You may ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to its use, or withdraw consent you gave. Email info@chananagrovetlimited.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we handled your data, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).
How we protect it
Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Job application documents are stored in a private area that only authorised staff can access, and admin accounts are protected. Staff only see the data they need for their work.
Children
Our website and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
